Token Bucket-Based Traffic Policing of AFDX Switch
Denned in ARINC 664, Avionics Full Duplex Switched Ethernet (AFDX) is a deterministic network with the advantage of high bandwidth, determinism and expansibility. AFDX Switch adopts traffic policing method to guarantee its ability of fault-tolerant and avoid the determinism of avionics network because of congestion as a failure of End System. Based on ARINC 664 specification, and considering with flow control mechanism researched on general network, an AFDX Switch traffic policing method is proposed in this paper. Furthermore, the traffic policing of AFDX Switch was verified with AFDX Test and Certification System (ATCS) of AIM GmbH, and the test results show that within different scenarios, including Account Sharing, this method could police frames efficiently.
