Transmission Power Optimization for Non-Real-Time Traffic in Cellular Networks
In traditional cellular networks, the transmission power of Base Transceiver Station (BTS) is mostly designed to satisfy the peak traffic load and the harsh delay requirements for real-time traffic. In this paper, the transmission power indispensable for traffic -with non-real-time character is studied. Particularly, a transmission power optimization approach is proposed, which conducts power adjustment according to the traffics delay tolerance and the instantaneous traffic load. Simulation results show that, the transmission power saving becomes more obvious as the traffics real-time requirements decrease, and the conservation up to 30% can be achieved.
