A Load Balancing Strategy in Green and Virtualized Data Center
Data center in the cloud computing environment currently face a huge challenge of power consumption. As the virtual machine technologies have been widely deployed to the data center, the load balancing of virtual-cluster became the most important issue for the reduction of power consumption. In this paper, we try to find an effective load balancing strategy to reduce the power consumption through optimizes the average task response time in data center. Specifically, we first give a mathematical model of load balancing to characterize the scheduling of virtual-cluster system. Then we proposed a GA (genetic algorithm) to resolve such model. We also used the typical experimental settings to discuss the availability of the model. The numerical results show that our proposed model is reasonable, and the proposed algorithm can achieve load balancing of entire system in a fast manner.
