Fast Simulation for Dynamic Forest Scene based on Hardware-Acceleration
To simulate the scene of large scale forest in wind, proposes a fast simulation method based oil hardware acceleration.The tree model js simplified extremely to 2D texture image.The curve skeleton is adopted as the control mesh of deformation.The tree is deformed according to the current wind condition and its windward area.The deformation is implemented by warping the eontrol mesh of 2D image.GPGPU technology is adopted to accelerate deforming the tree image during simulation of dynamic forest. The capaci n.of simulating reaI time is enhanced by hardwarebased algorithm.The method has been proved feasible and valid to simulate the large scale dynamic forest scene containing thousands of trees iu more than 30 FPS by our experiments.
