A Bayesian Network Approach for Composite Web Service Selection
Web Service has become a popular standard for achieving interoperability among business applications over the Internet and system integration requires a more complex process model to integrate the interactions of business applications. In this situation, how to select the best service for the user and how to select atomic services for Composite Web Service are big problems. As we known, QoS can be helpful to select services, but we cant find a good approach to select the best Composite Web Service for users. This paper proposes a probabilistic reasoning approach, based on Bayesian Network, for Composite Web Service Selection. The main advantages of this approach are: completely objective QoS evaluation, dynamic QoS evaluation on the ground of users requirement, QoS grades quantization and effective service selection algorithm. In order to achieve these goals, this paper firstly proposes a QoS Bayesian Network model for atomic Web Service, and then gives a method to classify and quantify the users inputting requirement grades of properties in QoS. Additionally, a greedy algorithm for Composite Web Service Selection is proposed based on QoS Bayesian Network model.
