A New Routing Algorithm Based on Priority in Optical Burst Switching Networks
In optical burst switching (OBS) networks, two or more bursts request to reserve resources at the same time and on the same wavelength of the same output port, they will produce the contention of bursts. Conflict resolution is a key technology to the commercial application of OBS networks. To reduce the packet loss probability of OBS networks, a new deflection routing algorithm based on priority in optical burst switching networks is proposed. To protect quality of service (QoS) of high priority bursts, low priority bursts are segmented and deflected. Simulations results show that the packet loss probability of the high priority are much less than those of the low priority, and the packet loss probability will decrease with the increase of the number of data channel. So this scheme can efficiently reduce the packet loss probability, and provide the good guarantee of QoS for the high priority bursts and information.
