Intersectional Timing Optimal Model and Genetic Algorithm Based on Bus Priority

This passage is about the research on the intersection signal designing in term of the bus priority, using the optima) theory of the operational research. Based on the generalized analysis of properties of the various urban intersections, this passage theoretically improved the traditional signal timing method, built up the mathematical model with the optimal goal of minimizing the passenger delay, and carried on the quota calculation to the intersection timing model using the genetic algorithm. In the case of not increasing the average delay for the social vehicles, this model realizes the bus priority, and decrease the bus delay at the signalized intersection. The application result of the VISSI M simulation indicates that compared with the traditional timing method, it is using this optimal model that decreases the delay for both bus vehicles and passengers about 20%, and realizes the bus priority in the premise of guaranteeing the traffic at the intersection running smoothly.
