The Study of Cross-Polarized Antennas in TD-HSPA+ Link Level Simulation
Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO), known as a key technique in long term evolution (LTE), can improve system throughput and transmission success ratio significantly. Because user equipment (UE) is limited by the device size, multiple antennas are rarely deployed in UE. As a result, cross polarization is introduced to reduce the antenna spacing without increasing correlation. The cross-polarized channel model for link level simulation is investigated in this paper. Moreover, the performance of different antenna deployments is analyzed and compared associated with singular value decomposition (SVD) pre-coding. It is shown from the simulation results that polarized antennas is suitable for the time division-high speed packet access plus (TD-HSPA+) system.
