PCE-based Combined Path Selection Scheme for Multi-layer Optical Networks
With the increasing demand for high bandwidth, multilayer and multi-domain network is facilitated by the development of GMPLS. PCE is used to decrease the constraint-based path computation complexity. This paper introduces several existing PCE-based schemes and network model for multi-layer optical network and proposes a PCE-based combined path selection scheme in multi-layer optical networks. The new scheme is used to balance the problem between shortest path and effective resource utilization induced by the invisibility between low layer and high layer in layered optical networks. Numerical results show that proposal achieves significant improvement in blocking probability through setting proper threshold value.
