Study on Probability Distribution Model of Reflection Times for Multi-path Propagation in Mobile Communication

Based on the analysis of reflection characteristics in multipath propagation, the variation of the number of reflection times is considered as a birth and death process of limited capacity state space. The reflection times probability distribution model which takes the distance between Base Station and Mobile Station as parameter is deduced in multipath propagation. The dynamic random variation of reflection times is simulated. The simulation results indicate that with the increasing of distribution density of reflector within communication domain, the reflection times will increase;and with the increasing of distance between Base Station and Mobile Station, the reflection times is smaller. The model deduced in this paper can be more practical than Poisson distribution model in reflecting the radio wave propagation because of considering the variation of reflection times in a state space of limited capacity in this paper. The model is of great significance to study the channel model, communication channel design and performance analysis in mobile communication.
