Efficient Resource Scheduling Algorithm in 3GPP LTE System

The Lone Term Evolution of UMTS can provide ubiquitous mobile broadband services with all IP architecture, however, the QoS of LTE system is seriously affected by the network congestion, packet loss, jitter, latency and other quality problems in all IP network. Thus it is valuable to investigate and design an efficient resource scheduling algorithm to improve the performance of data services and enduser experience. In this paper we propose an improvement on radio resource scheduling algorithm with reference to the semi-continuous scheduling algorithm for the VoIP data packets. By mapping the TCP ACK packets to a higher priority logical channel, the probability of both the discarded ACK packets and congestion in the wireless channels are reduced. As a result, the program avoids frequently opening of TCP congestion control mechanisms. Our simulations show that the proposed algorithm can enhance the RTT packet delay, throughput, etc. In addition, it has some advantages in stability and performance.
