Study on Simulation of Xian Urban Expansion Based on the genetic algorithm and CA model
CA (Cellular Automata) has been applied to the kinetic simulator in many complicated systems such as city and land utilization.The parameter of the variable in the CA model is very important to the result which means the key of the model is to gain the ideal parameter value.This method is applied to simulate the urban expansion in Xian during 19902007.The analysis shows that the proposed model can produce better simulation results than MCE-based CA models.It indicates that the CA models parameter can be automatically and effectively gained by the genetic algorithm.Additionally,it needs further study on collecting variables of main spatial characteristics which affect the urban development,as well as policy-related variables of key projects and administrative regionalization adjustment.
