Layer Compatibility of Wireless Sensor Networks and the Global Grid

Layering principles have been widely accepted and exploited as the reference frame by various types of networks.Among these types,wireless sensor networks and the Global Grid have attracted much attention with the wide range of application for both civilian and military purpose.Generally,wireless sensor networks employ 5-layer architecture as a frame and allow the independent designing of protocols for each layer.The Global Gird,which also has a layered architecture,provides a platform to realize communications among all classification levels for military command and control makers.This paper gives the analysis of the compatibility of the Global Grid and wireless sensor networks for the further expansion of the Global Grid.Although the analysis shows that there exist some problems of the integration,the paper also introduces some possible solutions to meet these difficulties.
