Vehicle License Plate Location Technique Based on Texture Feature and Edge Color Pair Match
A new technique for vehicle license plate location based on texture feature and color is proposed.Firstly,the gathered color image is preprocessed,then horizontal and vertical projection are taken,the candidate regions are roughly decided by the texture feature and geometry structure of license plate.Secondly the edge color pair of the pixels on both sides of the edge in the candidate regions is detected,and the license plate location is extracted correctly from the candidate regions by analyzing the fixed characteristic that the grounding color matches character color in a license plate.The experiment result shows that the technique can be used to precisely locate vehicle license plate at different situation and different kinds of vehicle.Compared with by single feature of license platc.the dependability of this method is improved.
