A Simple Power Allocation Algorithm in Correlated MIMO Channels Using Statistical Channel State Information
Adaptive MIMO transmission system is probable choice for high data rate wireless systems.However,under the multi-user and cooperative communication system or in the scenario of middle to high rate mobile system when instantaneous channel state information is not available,the statistical channel state information which includes the large-scale fading and spatial statistical parameters can be used for transmitter to optimize the performance.In this paper,we consider a correlated MIMO channel models,which is more corresponding to the practical system than spatial separable models.Based on a series of conclusion for this model,we conclude the upper bound capacity and propose a simple iterative water-filling algorithm.Simulation shows that this approach works very well and highly efficient,it converges after only a few iterative steps,with the first iteration achieving near-optimal performance.
