A Distributed Address Assignment Algorithm based on 2-hop neighbors for WSNs
In ZigBee wireless networks that use DAAM (Distributed Address Assignment Mechanism),the available addresses are utilized unevenly and DAAM does not consider the optimization of the network topology, which reduces the number of nodes joining the network. To address the issue,we propose DBAAN (Distributed Borrowed Address Assignment based on 2hop Neighbors) algorithm to assign addresses for nodes from their 2-hop neighbors, which considers the optimization of the network topology and is compatible with the present cluster-tree routing algorithms.Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that DBAAN outperforms DAAM in the effect of address assignment without increasing communication overhead and the time of forming network.Simultaneously, compared with SLAR (single level address reassignment) |5,DBAAN has a better performance in terms of overhead, the ratio of addressed nodes and the time of forming networks.
