Usability Evaluation of E-Commerce Website with the Analytic Hierarchy Process A Case Study of Taobao.com

As an important metric to assesses the quality- of ecommerce website,the usability evaluation can identify strengthen and weakness in the process of web architecture,which dominants the competitiveness of the e-commerce website.The paper takes a leading e-commerce website in China,Taobao.com,for a case study.Through the application of the Analytic Hierarchy Process,the paper construct an evaluation Hierarchy according to the Microsoft Usability Guideline,and the weights of criteria and subcriteria are measured relying on the analysis date collected by a survey in which 48 registered users of Taobao.com participated.By calculating pairwise comparison matrices with specialized AHP software,the pairwise comparison matrices,the paper presents some research findings concerning the usability evaluation of the e-commerce website from a vision of end-users.
