Active Contour for Vessel Extraction on Angiogram with Morphology Fitting
This paper presents an automatic approach for the extraction of vessel on angiogram with active contour model driven by local morphology fitting.To address the problems of inhomogeneous background and low contrast within angiogram,local energy is defined for the active contour model and morphology fitting is used as data term.Both the vessel object and the background are fitted by fuzzy morphology opening with linear structuring element associated with adaptive scale and orientation.The morphology difference property of image is checked and the local scale and orientation for each pixel is obtained for structuring element used in the opening operator.The results on real angiogram are presented.
