The research of improving image resolution based on wavelet interpolation and residual pyramid

On the base of the analysis of single image wavelet interpolation,the interpolation method based on wavelet and residual pyramid is proposed which can ilprove image resolution in the paper.First,the original low resolution image is interpolated by using B-spline,The wavelet coefficients in every way are obtained by discrete wavelet transform for the interpolated images.On the base of the principle of laplacian pyramid,the wavelet residual pyramid is presented to obtain the lost high frequency- details,then the wavelet coefficients of high frequency details are obtained by discrete wavelet transform.Finally,the high frequency wavelet coefficients are fused to estimate a high-resolution image.The results show the proposed approach has succeeded in obtaining a high-resolution image with a high peak signal-to-noise ratio and good visual quality.
