CASOM: A Context-Aware Service-Oriented Middleware for Ubiquitous Computing Applications
Ubiquitous computing boasts its unprecedented proactive service mode and promises to provide services available anywhere and anytime with minimized distraction. However, due to lack of an effective service infrastructure, developing ubiquitous computing applications is still a complex and intractable work.In this paper,we firstly identify the features of context information and quality of services in ubiquitous computing, and establish a unified context model and service evaluating model that apply first-order logic and fuzzy logic to dealing with user information, network status and device capability1,etc.Then,we propose a Context-Aware Service-Oriented Middleware (CASOM) that supports adaptive service selection and delivery mechanism for ubiquitous computing applications. Finally,we validate our design by performing tests in terms of scalability and performance.
