Numerical Simulation of Load State of Wires within Strand under Tensile Load
To reveal the influence law of laying combination and lay pitch multiple on load state of wires within strand,according to the theory of laying process for wire rope,space curve equation of wires within strand was established by using the differential geometric theory,we took 6×191WS right lang lay and right regular lay wire ropes as examples,finite element models of wire rope were established with ANSYS software,then finite element analysis of wire rope under tensile load was done combining with the strength theory of wire rope.The result shows the level and change amplitude in stress of wires within strands of the lang lay wire rope is greater than that of regular lay;the lay pitch multiple has a great influence on stress-strain distribution of wires within strands,however,the impact trend is similar among difference laying combinations.The established finite element model for wire rope was verified reasonable through the tensile experiment.Research results in this paper offer a reference for the structural design and rational use of wire rope.
