Research on the Relationship between Urbanization Level and Service Sector Growth of China Based on Error Correction Model
Based on the statistics data of urbanization rate and per capita added value of the service sector of China from 1978 to 2009,this paper explores the relationship between urbanization and service sector growth by employing co-integration theory and Error correction model.The empirical results denote that there exits a long-term equilibrium relationship and unilateral Granger causality relationship between Chinas urbanization and sen ice sector growth.Urbanization level has positive effect on service sector growth,whereas service sector growth has no significant effect on urbanization level.Therefore,speeding up the process of urbanization is an important way to promote the development of the service sector under current conditions.
