A Distributed Unattended Measurement System in Complex Physics Experiment
The development of a distributed unattended measurement system applied to complex physics experiments is introduced.Industrial PCs are employed in the measurement system as experimental controllers.Using VISA technology, the system achieved the function as controlling different instruments via various instrument-control interfaces. With LAN (Local Area Network) and optical fiber communication devices, the communication among the computers of the measurement system is established. The system is distributed and the functions such as experiment results data transmission via LAN,data storage and display are implemented.VNC (Virtual Network Computing) technology is employed to control and monitor computers via LAN.Programs are developed on the basis of NTP (Network Time Protocol) to synchronize the time over the network of the measurement system.
