Investigation of decision functions of DPA against DES
Considering the attack result of Differential Power Analysis (DPA) against Data Encryption Standard (DES) with one bit of the output of S-box to be decision function maybe wrong, and the attack efficiency is low, we give here a comprehensive investigation of decision functions of DPA against DES. First, based on Hamming weight power consumption model, the best decision functions in single-bit DPA against the 8 Sboxes of DES are gotten and then the decision functions in multi-bits DPA are analyzed and compared with the decision functions in single-bit DPA. Finally, DPA against DES in FPGA is performed based on cryptographic chips power consumption collection and analysis platform which is designed by us. The experimental results prove decision function designed by this paper is effective, and decision function in multi-bits DPA can reduce the probability of the wrong attack result effectively.
