A Framework for Web Proxy Cache Replacement Based on SVMs
The continuing growth of the web applications can lead to overload web servers and congestion on the Internet backbone. Proxy caches are often used to reduce this burden. In this paper, a novel approach to web proxy cache replacement is presented. Unlike previous approaches, this work utilizes SVMs for replacement decisions, which essentially are a twoclass classification problem for cache documents (discarded or remained) with complex features. The SVMs are given information about cache documents known to be important in web proxy caching as input and SVMs output is used to guide cache documents replacement.
