Design of Wireless Surface EMG Acquisition System
Traditionally, demonstrating the surface electromyography ( SEMG ) requires wires connected, expensive, large size machine with data-acquisition systems. Therefore, this study focused on the development of a offering excellent accuracy preamplifier and compact size wireless system. A wireless SEMG acquisition system is designed in this paper, it comprised of a number of wireless sensors and one receiver. Each wireless sensor contains linear differential SEMG electrodes, amplifier, filter, A/D converter and RF transceiver. The sensors are attached on the surface of the body independently to collect SEMG signals caused by human movement One receiver node receives the SEMG data from multiple sensors synchronously and transmitted to computer through USB for storing, displaying and analysis. The wireless SEMG acquisition system solved several problems exist in traditional instrument well. The design of wireless system can improve greatly the convenience and security, reduce the power-frequency interference in SEMG signals, and satisfy the basic requirement of the data acquisition in the research of SEMG -based human movement recognition.
