An Improved Method for Frequency Measurement Based on Vibrating Wire Sensors
Based on a practical equal precision frequency measurement method, an improved frequency measurement method applicable to vibrating wire sensors is presented in this paper. Using the old frequency measurement method, sometimes the pulses of the frequency signals can not be caught and measured, as a fixed time window is used for each frequency measurement. With the improved method, the measuring time window can be changed easily to adapt to different situations. This can reduce the probability of frequency measurement abnormity and increase frequency measurement reliability. In addition, the improved frequency measurement circuit is implemented by a Xilinx CPLD instead of using small-scale integration circuits as in the original circuit, this circuit improvement not only increases the circuit integration level and strengths the anti-interference ability of the circuit
