Image Difference Detection in Examining the Effect of Ultrasonic Frost Suppression
In order to obtain the differences of the frosting conditions on a finned-tube heat exchanger before and after the ultrasonic vibrations, frosting images were acquired by using a microscopic image system, then through image processing based on Vision Development Module toolkit in LabVIEW, the image difference between two frosting images can be obtained. The experimental tests show that the method of image difference detection is feasible and effective in examining the effect of ultrasonic frost suppression for a finned-tube heat exchanger.
