Waveform Design Method for the Coexistence of UWB and WLAN Systems
In this paper, a UWB pulse design method is developed for the spectrum coexistence of UWB and IEEE 802.11a WLAN systems. The generated pulse is obtained by using the inverse Fourier transform (IFT) of the rectangular shapes and FT frequency shift property. The simulation results show that the pulse spectrum satisfies the requirement of FCC mask with high efficiency and also avoids WLAN system. The comparison of bit error rate (BER) performance is presented by using the proposed pulse and the secondorder derivative Gaussian pulse in the additive white Gaussian noise channel. It is shown that the proposed pulse has better performance than the second-order derivative Gaussian pulse.
