The Design and Implementation of Remote Streetlight Monitoring System based on Virtual Instrument

This paper presents a new solution to design and implement remote streetlight control system. This solution employed virtual instrument and embedded system. To do this, we first developed the measurement and control program of the system. The program was developed under Labview. Second, the program was compiled and downloaded into LM3S8962 embedded development board via the ARM module of Labview. In actual applications, PC communicates with ARM board making use of UDP. So we can control the streetlight from a distance. Meanwhile, this system can work in real-time manner with high reliability and accuracy. In conclusion, this computerized and networking system possesses broad application prospects.
