The Research on Data Replication in Mobile Computing Environments: Application on Field Information System
This paper analyzes the related demand of the mobile field information system for data synchronization, and then proposes a common, open data synchronization solution. The strength of the proposed scheme lies in its capability to allow mobile devices to promptly exchange changed information with the centralized database only if necessary. Also, a data access mode is put forward, via which the network status can be transparent to the users, and the off-line operation is allowed. Considering extensibility, adaptability and flexibility of the application, the solution is independent of centralized database and mobile database, which can be used in ubiquitous environments.
