Improving the Performance of Clipped MC-CDMA Signals in Rayleigh Fading Channels Using Turbo Coding
Multi-carrier CDMA (MC-CDMA) technique is a promising technique to offer high data rate and reliable communications over fading channels. The main implementation disadvantage of MC-CDMA is the possibility of high peak to average power ratio (PAPR). Clipping is a simple technique for PAPR reduction. Clipping may cause in-band distortion, which degrades the bit error rate (BER) performance and out-of-band noise, which reduces the spectral efficiency. In this paper, Turbo coding technique is proposed to mitigate the effect of clipping on the performance of MC-CDMA signals. The performance of the turbo coding is analyzed through computer simulations. In this analysis Bit error rate(BER) is used as performance measure.
