RSRP Measurement on Restricted Subframes
Currently the reference signal receive power (RSRP)measurement accuracy is based on the common assumptions that user equipment (UE) would take several measurement subframes during a 200ms measurement period. In Long Term Evolution (LTE) release 8/9, the HE can perform RSRP measurement on cell-specific reference signal (CRS) transmitted by any of the available downlink subframes. In LTEAdvanced non carrier aggregation (CA) based cochannel heterogeneous deployment with TDM (time domain multiplex) enhanced inter cell interference coordination (elCIC) scheme, the release 10 UE performs measurement on a subset of restricted subframes which are signaled by the network. The restriction on subframes for performing the RSRP measurement may affect the measurement accuracy. The study is conducted with link level simulator. It is shown that if a release 10 UE performs RSRP measurement based on the network signaled restricted subframes, the RSRP measurement accuracy could be maintained at existing release 8/9.
