A Genetic Positioning Method for Heterogeneous Networks based on Base-Station Information
Positioning technology is one of the key techniques in heterogeneous networks. In this paper, we assume a WCDMA/WLAN heterogeneous network scenario; when a multimode terminal exists at the edge of WCDMA, it cant obtain its location just using single WCDMA base-station ranging information. Focusing on this problem, we propose a new positioning method based on genetic algorithm (GA) combining with both WCDMA/WLAN ranging information. Simulation results show that this method has higher positioning accuracy than tradition methods and is more robust under various environments. This work is to offer a theoretical reference for the research of heterogeneous network positioning.
