A New Visual Cryptography Scheme for Gray Scale Medical Image
In the field of medicine, to transfer a medical image from one place to another place or to store a medical image in a particular place in a secure manner has become a challenge. In order to face this challenge of security this paper has proposed a novel visual cryptography method for Gray scale images. Generally the visual cryptography method has a few problems. For instance when the pixels are expanded, the level of security applied is high but the reconstructed image quality is low. Similarly if the extent of pixel expansion be reduced, its security- is lowered however quality of the image is retained. So to achieve high security as well as to get good image quality this paper has framed new efficient splitshare and joinshare algorithms for gray scale image. The main advantage of this proposed method is to provide good quality of the image with security and without any post or pre processing. This proposed algorithm provides two types of the encrypted secret share image by using share algorithm. Then these two shares can be overlaid on which the original image is retrieved. This technique can be implemented in the field for storing image of X-RAY, MRI scan, CT scan, and ultrasound scan in a secure manner. Finally the CIA property has been proved by the experimental result.
