Improved Normalized Min-Sum Algorithm for Decoding LDPC Codes
In this letter an improvement is proposed for the Normalized Min-Sum (TNMS) algorithm to decode LowDensity Parity Check codes. The new algorithm introduces an efficient adjustment for check node update in view of several common error conditions in decoding process. By using the density evolution and Monte Carlo simulation, the optimal parameter values can be found. This improved algorithm achieves a noticeable performance gain over traditional NMS algorithm with only a modest increase in computation complexity.
