Securing Application in Mobile Computing
Smart phones and PDAs face major security concerns and problems in changing technology landscape.|6| Security in the mobile computing environment is a serious concern that important to be addressed. The main motivation of this paper is to come up with a mechanism to ensure users private data is protected and secured in the event of a mobile device being lost or stolen. We will address how to secure the applications and its data that run on mobile handled devices using Android platform and how we can provide and offer security capabilities to protect these applications and ensure the security in these devices. We will propose a new solution and technique for securing applications in mobile devices to resolve some of the security concerns in mobile computing. Our proposed solution provide efficient way to secure users private data in case of mobile device being lost or stolen by sending predefined command via SIMS messages to stolen mobile device to start doing the necessary action (delete the private data and send back the location information of Stolen device to the secondary emergency number). The solution that has been put forward also has the ability to detect is the SIM card has been changed. It sends SMS notifications to the pre selected emergency number. This will allow the protection of privacy of data and prevent the thief from fraud.
