Two Step Timing Synchronization for Multiband Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (MB-OFDM) Ultra Wide Band Systems
in this paper, a two step synchronization (TSS) algorithm for an MB-OFDM system is proposed. In proposed algorithm, time domain sequences are used to estimate the symbol timing offset and to identify the start point of the fast Fourier transform window. First, a coarse synchronization is performed, to locate the synchronization boundary. And then a fine synchronization is done, using the result of coarse synchronization. Numerical results show that significant improvement is achieved by our proposed algorithm in the synchronization probability and MSE metric compared with those of earlier.
