MIMO Radar Detection Based on Fractional Lower Order Statistics Eigenfilter
This paper addresses the problem of the target detection for MIMO radar in correlated non-Gaussian clutter with traditional MTD, and a fractional lower order statistics eigenfilter (FLOS-EF) is proposed. The FLOS-EF utilizes the fractional lower order statistics (FLOS) and the optimum filtering theories, and mainly follows the rule of maximizing the output fractional lower order signal-to-clutter power ratio. It firstly gives the Cholesky decomposition of the clutter fractional lower order covariance matrix. Then the decompounded matrix is used for the transformation of the signal fractional lower order covariance matrix. Lastly, the optimum FLOS-EF is determined by the eigenvector corresponding to the maximum eigenvalue of the transformed signal matrix. Simulation results show that, the detection performance of FLOS-EF obviously outperforms MTD for MIMO radar in correlated non-Gaussian and Gaussian clutter environments.
