A Block-unoverlapped Algorithm of Side Information Generation in DVC
In Distributed Video Coding (DVC) system, the quality of side information (SI) generation affects directly the compressing efficiency of the whole system. This article proposes a novel side information generation algorithm which adopts the improving hierarchical motion estimation and the weight decision in order to solve the problem of the overlapped blocks and the uncovered blocks. Simulation results show that the algorithm can averagely produce 3-4 dB improvement in the PSNR of side information comparing to the conventional H.264 Intra codec.
