Waveform Design and Characteristic Analysis of Random FM Signal for MIMO Radar Imaging
Orthogonal waveform design is a key problem for the Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO) radar. The random frequency modulation (FM) signal has good characteristics of orthogonality for its autocorrelation and cross-correlation. In this paper, the random FM signal is used as orthogonal waveform in MIMO radar. The imaging resolution and its influencing factors are discussed in space-spectrum MIMO FM. The results show that the influencing factors are the random FM signal waveform parameters, which include the standard deviation σn and the bandwith B of modulation random signal, the system frequency rate K,. waveform parameters satisfy (Kr σn)/B?l and the product of Kf and σn is large enough will obtain the high resolution. Simulation results efficiently validate the analysis.
