An Integrated Approach to Self-regulated Learning Platform Enhanced with Web2.0 Technology

The Self-regulated Learning methodology has been demonstrated to be an efficient and effective way for the learners to study knowledge in the teaching/learning process. It has attracted increasingly attentions from educational systems worldwide, for more and more focus are put on building students learning capability, rather than the knowledge body. In this article, we propose and implement a networked Self-regulated Learning (SRL) platform enhanced with the Web 2.0 technology. In this design, the Web 2.0 techniques such as KSS, Tag, Wiki, Blog and SNS are used to implement the functions or services that provide a self planned and managed studying environment to online learners. The Web 2.0 enforced SRL platform also helps to achieve the goal of developing the learners lifetime selflearning capability by providing integrated online learning tools and network environment, under which the learners potentials in study are ultimately explored and developed.
