Industrial Diversification and Regional Development Stability:Theoretical Discussion

The effect of economic diversification on regional economic development has received considerable attention from regional scientists and a number of themes have emerged in recent literature. It is widely believed that fluctuations in regional employment and economic growth can be reduced by increasing the diversity of the economic base of the region. Several approaches have been developed to measure regional economic diversity.
