OUTPUT-ONLY MODAL PARAMETER IDENTIFICATION BASED ON AUGMENTED STATE SPACE MODELS
Augmented stochastic system, consisting of the linear time-varying shaping filter and the original structure, is obtained to consider nonstationarity and non-whiteness of ambient inputs, as well as application of traditional stationary-whitenoise assumption. Influences are that practical measurements have time-varying statistical characteristics, and that eigenvalues associated with inputs appear as spurious poles in the final results. However, eigenfrequencies and mode shapes associated with the underlying structure remain unaffected. Numerical examples have accordant results. All these implicate why classical methods are widely used in civil engineering, whereas the effort of this paper is to obtain more precise theoretical sustainment.
