AN ASSESSMENT METHOD OF HIGH-RISE STRUCTURAL EARTHQUAKE DAMAGE USING MEASURED FLOOR ACCELERATION MESSAGES
It is more important to assess the postearthquake damage of the high-rise structures. But current researches on post-earthquake damage assessment of complex structures are inadequate, and only slight damage in elastic stage can be evaluated. Wavelet transform is sensitive to the change of the response signal, and this paper takes this advantage. First, wavelet package decomposition is done to the monitoring acceleration time history signals of floors, and then the change rates of the band energy are calculated and the relationships between the change rate and the actual damages is analyzed. Based on the analysis results the damage degree is scored. Second, the fuzzy mathematics method is used to calculate the damage degree membership degree of the floors. Finally, the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method is used to score damage degree of every stories and whole structure. The verification results of a shaking table test show that this method using measured floor acceleration message can effectively assess the damage extent of the high-rise structures under strong earthquake excitations.
