DYNAMIC MITIGATION OF THREE DIMENSIONAL STRUCTURES WITH SMART ISOLATION SYSTEM
The dynamic mitigation of building structure by adopting smart hybrid isolation system is actively carried out in this study. The analytical approach based on cooperatively spatial deformation is utilized for involving the cooperation of each frame and thereby simulating the torsional responses of the structure due to unsymmetric structural configuration. The equation of motion of the shear building incorporated with hybrid isolation system disturbed by seismic excitations is established by considering the effects of both base isolator and MR dampers. A multi-storey building structure is taken as the example to examine the feasibility and reliability of the proposed smart isolation approach. The observations demonstrate that the smart hybrid isolation system can be utilized in the earthquakeinduced vibration control of building structures because of its satisfactory energy-dissipating capacity.
