ADAPTABILITY ANALYSIS ONPRESENT CHINA HIGHWAY BRIDGE DESIGN VEHICLE LOAD
Great variability arises in highway vehicle characters such as vehicle number,vehicle type,and load weight with the rapid economic development in China. All these changes of vehicle characters have significant effect in the highway vehicle design load. In order to adapt these changes,this paper conducts a survey of domestic heavy-duty vehicles and gives the typical design parameters of heavy-duty vehicles. It introduces overload policy,loading based toll collection,the axle load limits and the total mass limits of some countries. Based on the weigh-inmotion data from survey,traffic characteristics of the measuring points are analyzed. On one hand,using survey vehicle load results,Monte Carlo method is used to program simply supported beams and continuous beams with different spans to calculate moment and shear forces. On the other hand,similar analysis is conducted for the same bridge modes based on China design vehicle load. As a result,the highway vehicle load effects are obtained by comparison to research on the adaptability of China vehicle design load.
