BRIDGE MAINTENANCE OPTIMIZATION BASED ON ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT AND LIFE CYCLE COST ANALYSIS
As large scale infrastructure and key point of traffic line, bridge maintenance has a significant impact on environment. Therefore the maintenance decision should be developed considering the combined effect of structure safety, economical cost and environmental impact. A carbon emission calculation model for multiplex bridge maintenance strategy is proposed in this study. Furthermore, the carbon emission is converted into current cost so as to establish a synthesized bridge life cycle cost system. On basis of time-dependent reliability and life cycle cost analysis, bridge maintenance optimization method is framed. As an example for application,a case study is established based on the construction data, maintenance information and traffic survey of an existing bridge which has been in an active service for 15 years. The carbon emission quantitative analysis is introduced to optimize the maintenance decision-making of a real bridge.
