Design of Intelligent Component for High Voltage GIS based on IEC61850

The intelligent component for HV GIS is defined as physical device that can be flexibly configured and is assembled by one or several function units, in IEC 61850 which is the only international standard in smart substation system. It can be used to replace the traditional GIS control cabinet. This paper presented a design of intelligent component for HV GIS, especially the IEC61850 communication interface. The intelligent component adopts decentralized control topology to realize the online monitoring of primary equipment, and it has such functions as human-machine interface, local or remote control, logic interlocking and the most important IEC61850 communication interface. It is mainly based on ARMLinux embedded operating system using modular structure design. The realization of the intelligent component modeling, included IED functional analysis, LN design, DATA design, LD design and Service model design are discussed. The IEC6180 GOOSE messages and publisher-subscriber model have been adopted to realize the communication between the different intelligent components on the Local Area Network according to IEC618S0 standards. The intelligent component will increase the reliability, efficiency, intelligent of the primary equipment such as HV GIS significantly.
