Effects of Soil Profile and Characteristic of Exciting Force on Propagation of Ground Vibrations
The ground -borne vibration that occurred from the vibration source due to road traffic , construction works, etc. shows a complicated propagation properties during propagation. In this paper, examination by the numerical computation was performed to explain a attenuation properties with distance of the measured value of the ground vibration due to road traffic and construction works. At first exciting forces of three directions to input for numerical computation was estimated reversely by using the measured acceleration record of the measuring point which was near to vibra tion source. Numerical computation was performed with the forces obtained by inverse analysis ,and the influence that a stratified structure of ground and properties of exciting force gave to attenuation properties with distance of the ground vibration was considered by calculation results. Thin layer element method was used for numerical computation , and the stratified structure of ground model was made based on the soil boring log of the point that was near to the measuring line of ground vibra tion. As a key result, it is recognized that the exciting force of horizontal direction plays an important role to explain the propagation properties of the measured ground vibration.
